Assault of Briton in Penang: Cops nab 2 men

GEORGE TOWN: Police detained a second suspect early yesterday to facilitate investigations into the assault of a Briton on Jalan Penang here.
The 30-year-old man was remanded until Saturday to determine the motive of the assault which left the foreigner seriously injured but in a stable condition.
North East District police chief ACP Anuar Omar said police were in the midst of tracking down several others in connection with the case.
“So far, we have identified two of the suspect’s friends,” he said.
In the 4.10am incident, the victim was rendered senseless following an assault by a group of men in front of a restaurant on Jalan Penang here.
Subsequently, police nabbed a 38-year-old man, who is in remand until Thursday.
