Our 2018 Ramadhan Buka Puasa Review of The Top Spots in Kuala Lumpur to break fast brought us to Hilton Kuala Lumpur. Traditionally the Hilton Kuala Lumpur, is one of the top places for Ramadan Buka Puasa. The Ramadan spread at Hilton showcased fare from 11 states in Malaysia.
As guest walked in they were greeted by the sight of the whole roast lamb with Briyani rice. The Roast Lamb and briyani was quite good.
We then tried the Bubur Lambuk Haji Bakhil which was quite good too.
INDIAN SECTION
The Star of the night was certainly the Indian Section with the different types of curries, Roti canai, murtabak raja, tandoori, naan, idli and vegetarian dishes.
The different curries were fantastic!
My favourite was the tandoori chicken!, it was super succulent and tasty. They had a huge clay oven right there to make their naan breads. The minced meat was also very tasty.
SATAY
The beef and chicken satay were good, we enjoyed the lemang pulut and serunding with the peanut sauce too.
MALAY SECTION
The Gulai Ikan Tongkol and Ikan Celup Tepung was quite tasty too
The Laksa Po Yam and Laksa Kedah was quite good too
Some of the Malays specialties that are available include:
Gulai Daging from Perlis,
Murtabak Raja and Pasemboq Boria Padang Kota from Penang
Asam Pedas daripada Melaka
Sup Merah Temasik Bengkulu and Ikan Bakar Wak Safri Sri Kuda Kepang from Johor
Nasi Dagang Ulek Mayang dan Nasi Kerabu Watimang Landok dari Terengganu
Masak Salai Gulai Lemak Cili Api Nismilan dari Negeri Sembilan
Ayam Masak Lemak Rebung Joget dari Selangor
Ikan Patin Sungai Tempoyak Gurindam dari Pahang
Singgang Rusuk Lembu Cong Codei dari Kelantan
Sambal Tumis Udang Harimau dengan Petai Berangkai dari Perak
The Siput Sedut, Kacang Botol Goreng Bercili, Ikan Talapia Goreng and Prawn Sambal was quite delicious too
JAPANESE
The Japanese section is the biggest difference from previous buffets as this has been scaled down quite tremendously to three or four dishes.
SEAFOOD
At the seafood section you had quite a variety to choose from - different types of mussels, oysters, crabs, bamboo clam, clams, squid and prawns.
SALAD'S
They had a variety of Ulam Ulaman and Tradional Malay Appetisers. They had a salad bar too.
SOUP'S
They had three types of Soup - Soup Tulang Rusuk, Soup Ekor and Soup Lidah. This was another crowd favourite being a speciality of Johor.
The Rojak and Char Kuey Teow were pretty good too.
They had some International food items like Pasta and Pizza for those who wanted variety.
The Desserts Section had quite a limited variety when compared to other hotels of similar category. The best item here was the bread and butter pudding and goreng pisang. They had a few varieties of local fruits too. You can see from the pictures below the rest.
At the drinks section diner have 5 choices, among them being Soya Bean, Air Bandung and
Air Tebu
For Entertainment they had a four piece band belting out Malay and English songs,I must say the female vocalist was actually quite good.
If you like the Indian and the Malay specialities above then this is a great place to buka puasa or break your fast. You will be wow'd by the Indian Section alone thats for sure!
