In the last few years under the current Management, Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur has built a strong reputation of serving up some really good food be it their popular wine dinners or themed buffet's. Their recent "Bucked Out" Seafood Buffet Promotion was the talk of the town among foodie lovers.

Our 2018 Ramadhan Buka Puasa Review of the Top Spots  in Kuala Lumpur brought us to the Traders Hotel KL (THKL) last Saturday night. They had more than 250 diners that night.

As you walked you could get a glimpse of a glorious lookingWhole roasted lamb leg it had a perfect colour to it that made your appetite whet. As soon as it was time to break fast at 7.21 the reviewers broke their fast with some dates, water and nescafe.

We then started by having some fruits, they were all fresh and sweet.  We started with the soup, they had three choices with the traditional Bubur Lambuk, Soup Lidah dan Soup Urat. The Bubur Lambuk was truly one of the best in town.

We then tried the Whole Roasted Lamb, I asked for the part that was well done on the outside so that you can enjoy the crispy skin against the succulent inside flesh of the lamb. Our reviewer agreed this too was one of the best lamb we tasted this year. With the black pepper sauce it was simply fabulous! Briyani rice was available for those who wanted to make it into a Lamb Briyani

The Bubur Lambuk and the Whole Roasted Lamb made it a great start to the review, we wondered if the Traders Hotel could keep this up, and guess what... they did.

While you didnt have the huge spread like the Royale Chulan Hotel Kuala Lumpur and Hotel Istana they matched them in terms of taste. Every single item at the Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur was tasty! Believe it or not we could not find a single item that was below par!

JAPANESE SECTION

The Japanese section at the Traders Hotel is one of the best in town with a variety of sushi and sashimi that melted in your mouth. They had Takoyaki Crab and Octopus. The fare is extremely fresh.

GORENG-GORENG

We then tried out the Goreng Goreng Section.  The Fried chicken was one of the best we had.  We had no idea how fried chicken could taste this good -crispy crunch on the outside and moist inside with tasty marination. The Fried Paru  and Fried crabs were  tasty too. They had Tempura and  Fried Mushrooms too.

SEAFOOD SECTION

At the Fish and  Seafood Section there was quite a variety of seafood and fish that was marinated and  laid out so that guest could select and get the chefs to cook them to according to how they want, This was another popular section. They had to keep refilling the clams as many liked it stir fried with garlic - La La!

MAIN COURSE

We then tried the Satay where  I could have easily eaten over 20 sticks as it was pretty good.

The Murtabak  Penang and Roti John section were also very popular with diners.

For those who like to start their meals the western way they had some nice freshly baked bread with Mushroom soup. At the western section they had Roasted Chicken, Frilled Fish, Mixed Vegetables in Garlic Butter, Potatoes and Beef Lasagna.

At the clay pot section they had Beef Cooked in Dark Soya Sauce, Lamb Dalca and Cabbage in Turmeric.

They had some great tasting Beef Rendang, Lamb Curry and Madras Chicken

At the Traditional Malay Section they had Sambal Petai, Telor Itik Masak Lemak, Perut Masak Lemak and Nangka, Siput Sedut. Every single item was delicious.

They even had Idiyappum or String Hoppers, which is a very popular with all.

At the Chinese section they had They had stir fried Squid, Sweet and Sour Fish, Fried Rice and many more.

To sum it up all items above were simply delicious.

DESSERTS

They had quite a variety of delicious deserts from Traditional Malay Kuih,  cakes, pastries, ACB, Ice Cream and Bubur but the obvious crowd favourite was the Pengat Pisang and Pengat Durian. The Bubur Pulut Hitam was also very good.

The Ice Cream here is not local but a creamy quality product from New Zealand.

They had 4 different cold drink, teh tarik and nescafe tarik

They had a nice tasty variety of traditional kuih .

The Pengat Pisang and Pengat Durian were simply heavenly

The Traders Hotel Selera Kampung Buffet Was Simply Delicious.
