PETALING JAYA: Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) personnel have the freedom to cast their votes during GE14 without any form of external interference, says its chief Admiral Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin (pic).
"We are all free to make our own choices when we vote. Don't be influenced by any incitement that can affect our decision. Use your wisdom based on facts, observations, achievements and our own experiences.
"As responsible Malaysians, vote wisely. Remember, our vote is secret," he said in a statement issued on the Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia Facebook page on Thursday (May 3).
Kamarulzaman also advised all Navy personnel to refrain from participating in any form of political activity.
His remarks came a day after Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's open letter, which urged the top echelons of the military and police to ensure that there is no pressure on their personnel when casting their ballots on polling day.
In the open letter issued on Wednesday (May 2), Dr Mahathir also urged military personnel and their family members to vote wisely on polling day.
