Syabas announces unexpected water disruption in Klang, Shah Alam, Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor

KUALA LUMPUR: A drop in water level at the Bukit Mayong balancing reservoir due to technical glitches at the Sungai Selangor Phase 2 water treatment plant on Saturday have seen several areas in Klang, Shah Alam, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor facing unscheduled water supply disruption and low water pressure.

In a statement issued this afternoon, Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) said efforts are underway to address the problem and to accelerate the recovery process.

The affected areas in Klang/Shah Alam are the Bukit Raja Industrial Area, Bandar Bukit Raja, Setia Alam, Aman Perdana, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Tok Muda, Rantau Panjang , Telok Kapas, Bandar Sultan Sulaiman, Pelabuhan Utara, Tanjung Harapan, Sultan Mohamed industrial Area, Sungai Sireh, Sungai Puloh Industrial Area, Bandar Bukit Tinggi 1 and 2, Bandar Botanik, Ambang Botanik, and Bayu Emas.

Also affected are Bandar Parklands, Glenmarie Cove, Bandar Puteri, Bandar Putera 2, Taman Bayu Perdana, Taman Sentosa, Kampung Budiman, Meru, Kapar, Telok Gong, Laguna Park, Armada Putera, Pulau Indah Phase 1, Pulau Indah Phase 2, Kampung Pulau Indah, Pulau Ketam, Kampung Pendamar, Pandamaran, and Taman Seri Andalas.

In Kuala Langat, the affected areas are Batu 7, 8 and 9 in Sijangkang, Taman Sijangkang Jaya, Taman Perwira, and Taman Seri Medan.

As for Kuala Selangor, the affected areas are Puncak Alam Phase 1, 2, 3, and 5, Alam Suria, Puncak Bistari and Dataran Suria.

Syabas said they have yet able to determine when the normal water supply will resume.

“However, we will provide the latest information on the matter from time to time. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will continue to monitor the situation.

“To help ease the burden of consumers, water tanks will be supplied from time to time at affected areas with priorities will be given to highly-critical consumers.”
