IPOH: A boat carrying several Parti Amanah Negara leaders capsized during an aid distribution effort

Amanah vice president Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa and treasurer-general Asmuni Awi were thrown into the water when their boat capsized as they were approaching a house there during the incident Monday afternoon.
The duo, along with three other volunteers, managed to stay afloat as they were wearing life jackets.
However, some 20 boxes of aid containing food and other daily necessities were lost.
Dr Mujahid said they clung on to their capsized boat while waiting to be rescued.
"Luckily, a villager saw us and helped us onto their sampan.
"My wallet, mobile phone and the aid boxes are lost," he said, adding that they were then forced back to higher ground, as there was no other way to get to the village.
