Man burnt to death in Sandakan horror crash

KOTA KINABALU: A man was burnt to death after the vehicle he was driving crashed into an express bus along the Mile 7 road in Sandakan early Thursday.
The driver, who has yet to be identified, was believed heading to work when the collision occurred at about 6.15am.
The bus driver, who is in his 40s, escaped unhurt.
Sandakan fire station assistant enforcement officer Calvin Joe Jeafery said a team of firemen was despatched to the scene following a distress call at 6.29am.
“The victim was believed trapped inside his car following the collision and could not escape when the vehicles caught fire,” he said.
The front part of the bus was also burnt in the incident.
Fortunately, there were no passengers inside the bus.
Investigations are ongoing.
