PETALING JAYA, Dec 29 — Two snatch thieves got more than they bargained for when they took on a woman driver — they both landed in hospital.
The woman had stopped at a traffic lights intersection near Evolve Mall, Ara Damansara, at 3.30am when the two suspects approached her car on a motorcycle from the left.
One of the suspects smashed the front passenger window and grabbed the woman’s laptop bag placed on the seat before the pair rode off,” said Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din.
The driver was determined not to let her perpetrators get away and decided to go after them.
She chased the suspects and rammed her car into them causing them to fall and sustain injuries.
Mohd Zani said one of the suspects tried to escape into a nearby construction site but was caught by the woman, who called the police.
Police investigations revealed the duo, both aged 26, had previous convictions.
A security guard working nearby said he heard someone shouting “robbers” three times after a loud crash.
The suspects, who suffered serious injuries, were admitted to University Malaya Medical Centre.
