Woman Stabbed 78 Times: Two Friends Sent To The Gallows For Her Death
SHAH ALAM: Two friends were sentenced to death by the High Court here today after they were found guilty of murdering a woman by stabbing her 78 times five years ago.
Judge Datuk Wan Afrah Wan Ibrahim handed down the sentence on Muhammad Faizul Mohd Ali, 24, and Mohd Zulhaziq Razali, 27, after finding them guilty.
In the judgment, she said the defence by both the accused failed to raise reasonable doubts against the prosecution case.
The two men were jointly charged with the murder of Rozana Mohd Yusak, 35, at her house at Jalan Puncak Desa 2, Kepong near here, between midnight and 1.15am on Dec 21, 2011.
The charge, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, carries the death sentence upon conviction.
The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Siti Balkish Abdul Yazaid, while Muhammad Faizul was represented by lawyer Ariff Azami Hussein and Mohd Zulhaziq by lawyer Saladin Mohd Yasin.
