KUALA LUMPUR: An ex-doctor was charged at the Sessions Court today over multiple sexual offences against a 56-year-old cleaner at a hospital here last year.
Ahmad Ahnaf Kamarulizham, 31, was charged with two counts of forcefully inserting his finger inside the victim's vagina and also masturbating in front of the woman.
He pleaded not guilty to the offences before judge Shamsudin Abdullah.
The father of two also pleaded not guilty to an alternative charge of assault with intention to outrage the modesty of the woman.
Ahnaf allegedly committed the offences in a nursing room on the fifth floor of the Specialist Complex building at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, Dang Wangi here between 10.30am and 11.30am on March 18, 2015.
Prosecuting officer ASP Sapri Yaakub did not offer bail to the accused, saying that it was a non-bailable offence.
In pleading for minimum bail, Ahnaf's counsel Fahmi Abd Moin said his client was no longer working at the hospital and is currently unemployed.
"He resigned in November last year and now has no fixed income to support his family. His wife who is a medical officer, is pregnant with their third child and already six months in the pregnancy," he said.
The lawyer said the accused's wife, who is now supporting the family, suffers from joints pain and her movement is limited.
Shamsudin allowed RM12,000 bail with one surety and ordered the accused to report to the nearest police station once a month.
He fixed Sept 28 for submissions.
