SEREMBAN: A man poured gasoline onto a bank counter before threatening to light it up, in a bank robbery at Taman Rasah Jaya this afternoon.

The incident occurred around 4.10pm when the robber, wearing a full-faced helmet, entered the bank just before closing time.

Seremban district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Zaki Harun said the man then proceeded to pour gasoline onto the counter and issued his threat.

"One of the two staff on duty was splashed with gasoline and ran away to wash it off.

"The other staff, in fear, handed over cash from the drawer," he said.

Zaki said the man escaped with RM39,000 in cash.

He said police are now hunting the suspect, who is believed to have been involved in various robbery cases here.
