SERDANG: Police recovered a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo near the Rawang toll plaza, two days after it was stolen from a 31-year old businessman in Puchong at 12.05am on July 26.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Megat Mohd Aminuddin Megat Alias said police had set up a task force to track down the Lamborghini, adding that a 52-year-old man and a 47-year-old man were arrested in connection with the theft.

The 52-year-old was arrested at a restaurant along Jalan Radin Bagus, Sri Petaling, at about 5pm on July 28 following a report lodged by the businessman.

This was followed by the arrest of the 47-year-old at the Rawang toll plaza at 8pm on the same day.

ACP Megat Mohd Aminuddin said that the car was stolen following an accident where the Lamborghini was rammed from behind by a BMW.

“He stopped his car. A man stepped out of the BMW and told the businessman that he had no money to compensate for the damage,” he said.

ACP Megat Mohd Aminuddin said that another man got out of the BMW after the Lamborghini’s driver finished his discussion with the other man.

“After both men finished their discussion, another man got out of the BMW and pointed a parang at the businessman,” he explained.

ACP Megat Mohd Aminuddin said the businessman ran to the side of the road and the culprits made away with the Lamborghini.

In a twist of events, ACP Megat Mohd Aminuddin however added that the Lamborghini did not belong to the businessman to begin with.

“We are checking with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to track down its rightful owner,” he said.
