Insurance agent charged with murder of housemate
JITRA: An insurance agent was charged with causing the death of his female housemate in the magistrate’s court here.
Faiz Mohd Fazli, 42, was alleged to have murdered Nurul Syahirah Ishak, 21, at about 1.30pm at his house at 290, Jalan Gemilang 8, Taman Gemilang, here on March 31, 2016.
Faiz nodded his head when the charge was read to him by the court interpreter.
Senior Magistrate Mohd Khairul Hafizuddin Ramli fixed May 12, 2016 for mention of the case pending post-mortem and chemist report.
State Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Savinder Singh prosecuted while the accused was represented by counsel Ravi Shanker.
On March 30, Faiz and his wife were detained in connection with the case.
Nurul Syahirah, believed to be one of the occupants of the house, was found unconscious in one of the rooms before she was rushed to the hospital. However, she succumbed to her injuries.
Faiz's wife, a 28-year-old doctor, was not charged.
