Meet The Homeless Man Who Lives Under A Bridge With His Two Daughters In KL
Just over a week ago, Malaysian Digest ran a special feature about the homeless in Kuala Lumpur (read here).
On March 1, MaxMan.TV, a digital site filled with social experiments and fast cars among others, upon reaching 100,000 views on YouTube posted a video on their Facebook page.
It explained, as an act of kindess to pay back to the community, they decided to help out a homeless man named Ruslie, and his two daughters who have all been living under a bridge in the city, with only one rice cooker.
"The worst thing about living here is, my kids can't study," the homeless man lamented.
Its Chief Executive Officer Izmir Mujab who was filmed at the site personally sought to help Ruslie who has been homeless for six months.
The Sabahan claims his family had disowned him after he converted to a different faith. And after previously getting fired from his job as a truck driver, he has survived collecting recyclables and making a living with RM15 per day.
In the over three-minute clip, Izmir checked the family into a hotel, bought new clothes for them, took them out for proper meals, provided them with essential needs, and took the children out for some recreational fun – from swimming to watching a movie for the first time.
Ruslie said now he only needs RM260 per month to kick start his life once again, just so he can provide his kids with a proper education, to which Izmir surprised him with some funds.
A tearful Ruslie was overwhelmed by the kind gesture and proceeded to give his blessings for all the help given to his family.
The inspiring video has had over 800,000 views and 25,000 shares on Facebook, and certainly touched the hearts of many Malaysians.
