PETALING JAYA: A group of men in several cars chased down two friends and slashed one of them to death.
In the incident, which took place around 4.30am Sunday, two men aged 24 and 36 respectively were seen being chased out of a nightclub on Jalan Gasing by a group of about 12 men armed with sharp weapons.
The duo, riding on a motorcycle, were pursued for a few kilometres before their attackers caught up with them.
A 36-year-old, later identified as S. Paramanathan, was killed with injuries to his head and abdomen, while his injured friend managed to flee on foot to a nearby hotel and ask for help.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din (pic) said initial investigations showed that revenge was the motive for the murder.
"The murder victim has a criminal record and was better known to his friends as Poo Suresh," he said when contacted Sunday.
The injured victim is being treated in University Malaya Medical Centre.
