KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak visited the Pavilion shopping mall here to get a first-hand look at the joint police and armed forces security patrol in the city.
He was accompanied by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar and several ministers.
The visit by the Prime Minister was also to show that the city is safe, refuting a Reuters report that Australia had issued a travel alert, alleging that Malaysia could be a target of terrorist attack.
The group spent about an hour at the mall, having tea, and chit-chatting with each other.
Also present were Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, his Deputy Datuk Johari Baharom, Deputy Home Minister II Datuk Masir Kujat and Armed Forces chief Jen Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin.
