A 68-year-old man was killed after he was crushed by a tree when he took shelter from the evening rain under a gazebo at a golf course



SHAH ALAM: A 68-year-old man was killed after he was crushed by a tree when he took shelter from the evening rain under a gazebo at a golf course here earlier today. 

The men were believed to be in the middle of a golf game at the course when the tragedy occurred. Shah Alam OCPD Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat said the victim, Lim Tat Thuan of USJ4, Subang Jaya was at the gazebo with two foreigner friends and a local when the incident happened about 5pm.

 "A tree near the gazebo they were under fell and struck Lim. He suffered head and facial injuries. He died on the spot. "The three others suffered light injuries and were sent to a private hospital. 

The case has been classified as sudden death," said Shafien. Lim's body has been sent to the University Malaya Medical Centre in Petaling Jaya for a post mortem.
