SHAH ALAM: Two men pleaded not guilty to causing a commotion during Malaysia’s World Cup qualifying Asian Zone Group A match against Saudi Arabia at the Shah Alam Stadium last Tuesday.
Mohd Ridzuan Ahmad, 36, also known as Lekir, and Nudzul Haqimi Zulkepli, 32, claimed trial at the magistrate’s court here to allegedly letting off fireworks and flares and causing the match to be stopped in the 87th minute.
The two were amongst several people arrested in connection with the incident. They were charged under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.
Several Harimau Malaya fans hurled fireworks and flares onto the pitch during Malaysia’s match against Saudi Arabia in Shah Alam.
The match referee decided to stop the match due to security reasons and the safety of the players.
