For RM400, a businessman was fatally stabbed by a 15-year-old addict and his body dumped at a beach

Teen drug addict robs and kills businessman

KOTA KINABALU: For RM400, a businessman was fatally stabbed by a 15-year-old addict and his body dumped at a beach some 30km away from here.
Sabah CID chief Datuk Salehhuddin Abdul Rahman said the boy, who is married, was believed to be the main suspect in the murder-robbery of Richard Ho, 60.
The body of Ho, who was in his car prior to the incident, was found with stab wounds on his neck, chest and arms by some youths near the Kampung Beringgis Beach in Papar at about 4.30pm last Tuesday.
“The RM400 he had in his wallet was reported missing following the discovery of the body,” Salehhudin said, adding that Ho’s car was also nowhere to be found.
He said that upon investigation, two boys, aged 17 and 20, were arrested at the Tanjung Aru area on Wednesday night.
Further interrogation of the two suspects, he added, led police to the teenage addict in Kinarut town on April 10.
“We believe that this case is now closed with the arrest of the addict,” said Salehhudin, adding that robbery was thought to be the motive behind the killing.
The main suspect, he said, had stabbed Ho with a folding knife before dumping his body on the beach and fleeing in his car.
He later abandoned the car some 9km from where the body was found.
Besides the main suspect, one of the two boys picked up earlier by the police also tested positive for drugs.
