PETALING JAYA: A Sarawakian woman, Marjorie Abdullah was denied entry into her daughter's graduation at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Shah Alam because she was wearing pants, an online portal reported.
“I wasn't supposed to wear pants, but as I was in Sarawak, I didn't see the invitation card my daughter had which had the dress code. They refused to accept my excuse,” she wrote on a comment on her Facebook page, which was reported by Malaysian Digest.
On a post on her wall where she had posed with her daughter, Nadia and her fiancée, Marjorie had wrote; "My daughter and her fiancé refused to attend their own graduations as they were angry at the way I was treated."
She also commented on her wall what she, her daughter and fiancée had a “delicious sushi lunch” after being denied entry into the graduation.
"Thank you all for your kind concern, we went out and had a delicious sushi lunch while their friends texted how bored they were waiting for their names to be called while clapping politely," said Marjorie in response to comments from friends.
She had added in response to a comment from another friend that her uncovered toes might also have been a reason for her being denied entry to her daughter's convocation ceremony.
The post has since gone viral with 27 likes and 555 shares as of Friday night.
