    JOHOR BARU: A man who allegedly stabbed his ex-fiancée to death in Kluang was caught by the police, just as he was about to flee to a neighbouring country.

    Johor police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said that police successfully nabbed the suspect at Bandar Penawar in Kota Tinggi here on Tuesday.
    "The suspect was attempting to flee the country but swift action by the police thwarted his attempt," he told reporters during a press conference at the state police headquarters here on Thursday.
    In was earlier reported that a clerk who was to wed this year, was stabbed to death by her ex-fiance after she refused to reconcile with him.
    Nursyafikah Ahmad Ismail, 20, who worked at the Johor Econsave Hypermarket, was killed with a kitchen knife at around 6pm last Friday.
    The man had reportedly confronted her at the hypermarket's car park and pleaded with her to continue their relationship but she refused, telling him that she was already engaged to another man.
    Hearing this, the man got enraged and slammed her head onto a motorcycle, then stabbed her to death before fleeing.
