MACC remands Minister’s private secretary over RM500,000 claims


 
KUCHING: A private secretary of a Federal minister has been remanded until April 20 to facilitate investigations by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on allegations that he made false claims up to RM500,000.
The remand order was granted by the Magistrate's Court here on Tuesday following an application by MACC deputy public prosecutor Low Chin How.
Magistrate Zulhairil Sulaiman allowed the 41-year-old to be remanded for seven days for MACC to carry out further investigations.
The suspect is alleged to have made false claims for a few functions amounting to RM500,000.
It is learnt that the suspect is attached to Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Joseph Entulu.

Contacted by a local daily, Entulu said the private secretary had not been charged but was only being investigated.
