KUALA LUMPUR: Several photographs of a man resembling a Selangor DAP state assemblyman involved in a gambling session with a group of men during Chinese New Year have gone viral on social media.
The photographs, believed to have been taken with a mobile phone, showed a man with his shirt unbuttoned dealing out poker cards at a table to several other men.
There were gaming cards as well as cash on the table.
When contacted by a Chinese newspaper, the assemblyman admitted that he had seen the photos but declined to comment.
DAP disciplinary committee chairman Tan Kok Wai said gambling should not be carried out at any of its offices.
But he refused to answer if the party also bans its members from gambling, saying he had not seen the pictures.
