ALOR SETAR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) obtained a Magistrate's court order to place under remand a senior officer of a government agency over allegations that he demanded sexual favours.
The officer, in his 50s, was believed to have asked for sexual services from single mothers as favours to help in approving housing applications under the Hardcore People's Housing Project (PPRT) in Kedah.
The man was arrested at a hotel in Jalan Putra here at about 2pm on Thursday.
The order was issued by Magistrate Umzarul An-Nur Umar to allow investigations to be conducted under Section 7 of the MACC Act 2009.
The arrest was made after MACC conducted surveillance over the past several months and it is believed among the victims was a single mother in her 20s. - Bernama
