Ex-cop found dead in front of shop

KUALA LUMPUR: The body of an ex-policeman, who was formerly attached to the General Operations Force (PGA), was found sprawled in front of a shop in Batu 5, Jalan Ipoh here.
It is learnt that the former constable, identified as 55-year-old Supparatian Suparali, was found by a passer-by at about 8.30am Saturday.
Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy said a medical team from the Civil Defence department (JPAM) pronounced him dead at the scene.
“There were no weapons found at the site,” he said Sunday.
ACP Munusamy said his body was sent to Hospital Selayang for a post-mortem and the case has been classified as Sudden Death (SDR).
It is believed that he may have died from pneumonia.
Meanwhile, Supparatian’s brother, known only as Ganesan, said the former policeman resigned from the force 20 years ago.
He leaves behind his wife and two children, in their 20s, who are currently living in Johor Baru.
