KUALA LUMPUR: PKR vice-president Tian Chua says the Sultan of Selangor’s endorsement for Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to remain as menteri besar is of no consequence for him to remain in office.
Tian Chua said Khalid’s resignation was imminent since he had lost the majority of support from the opposition al liance.
“He can go meet the Sultan, or say whatever he wants. But democratically Khalid should resign since he commands no support from the opposition coalition,” said Tian Chua when contacted today.
Khalid had met with the Royal Council this morning to discuss his tenure in the office after he was sacked as a PKR member on Saturday.
The menteri besar claimed that he still command a majority of support from the state assembly and there could still continue to lead the administration.
“That baffles me. Why kind of support (is Khalid talking about)? The best thing for him to do now is to demonstrate his claim.
“He can do this asking each assemblyman to sign a letter t pledge their support for him, or call for a special sitting to substantiate his claim.”
