8 Aug – After a week of release, Universal has reported that the trailer for the erotic film, "Fifty Shades of Grey" has garnered over 100 million views across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and other social sites, making it the most-watched movie trailer of 2014.
The film that based on the erotic romance novel by British author E. L. James has already passed over 35 million views across two YouTube channels owned by Universal and another 40 plus million views came from Universal and Beyonce's Facebook pages and some other social media sites.
The steamy trailer had even beat "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" trailer which only garnered around 31 million views when the trailer made its debut back in March and also "Transformers: Age of Extinction" which received 26 million views in its opening week.
The highly anticipated erotic film, "Fifty Shades of Grey" is set to release in Malaysia and Singapore next year on 12 February.
Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson with a screenplay by Kelly Marcel, Patrick Marber, and Mark Bomback, the film will star Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as the main leads.
