Bank robber shot dead by guard

GEORGE TOWN: A second robbery attempt at a bank in Jalan Sungai Dua here Thursday was foiled when a well-prepared security guard shot dead one suspect, and forced another to flee empty-handed.
The duo were believed to be the same men who struck the bank on May 29, escaping with more than RM60,000 is cash.
Their modus operandi was the same this time - dousing petrol inside the premises and threatening to burn it.
Police are still conducting investigations at the scene.
Penang deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk A. Thaiveegan commended the security guard for his swift action.
"He did his job well."
