Rambo Bentong sentenced to death

TEMERLOH: Rambo Bentong (pic) was sentenced to death by the High Court here for the murder of a 17-year-old girl five years ago.
Justice Abdul Karim Abdul Rahman delivered the capital punishment after finding Rabidin Satir guilty as charged.
Rabidin, 43, from Tambunan, Sabah, was sent to the gallows as provided for under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
Justice Abdul Karim said he was satisfied with evidence adduced before the court that the accused had killed Annie Kok Yin Cheng at Lot 4168 Kampung Ketari, Bentong, between 11.30pm on March 7, 2009 and 1.50pm on March 8, 2009.
On Feb 5 last year, Rabidin was sentenced to 115 years in prison and 50 lashes after he pleaded guilty to four counts of rape and one count of committing unnatural sex.
The following March 21, he was slapped with another 18 years behind bars for attempted murder of a police constable.
Rabidin earned the notorious nickname because it is believed that his preferred choice of weapon to harm his victims was a Rambo knife.
