27 Jul – The upcoming all-star action sequel, "The Expendables 3" has been leaked online weeks ahead of its 14 August 2014 release.
While Sylvester Stallone may not be happy to learn that a DVD-quality version of his movie featuring a slew of his action pals, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Dolph Ludgren has been illegally leaked online, users have been happily downloading the movie, with the leaked copy having garnered over 189,000 hits in just 24 hours.
The high quality version of the movie is believed to have been originated from a screener copy which was to be used for promotional purposes.
The last time a big movie like this was leaked in high quality was "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" back in 2009, months before its release.
However the leak was that of the unfinished version of the movie. The current version of "The Expendables 3" that has been leaked online is the complete finished movie.
The first two "Expendables" movie were global hits, with "The Expendables" in 2010 grossing up to USD275 million and "The Expendables 2" in 2012 grossing more than USD300 million worldwide.
Early in June this year, Malaysia's Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (MDTCC) had blocked the access of several file sharing torrent sites in efforts to curb piracy.
In Singapore, access to file sharing sites such as The Pirate Bay and Kickass Torrents have also been blocked by the government in line with the national Copyright Act.
"The Expendables 3" will be released in Malaysia and Singapore this 14 August 2014.
