Johor Criminal Investigations Department chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan says no further arrests have been made on the murder of Estonian model Regina Soosalu on Pulau Rawa, off Mersing.
Two of the seven suspects currently in custody for the murder case of Estonian model Regina Soosalu on Pulau Rawa, off Mersing, Johor, are being investigated for drugs.
According to NST Online, Johor Criminal Investigations Department chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan said both suspects were remanded for three days under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
“The other four are being investigated under Section 302 for murder. Three will also be remanded until July 27 and another until July 28,” reported the news portal.
Hasnan said there had been no further arrests and the number arrested so far stays at seven.
“We are now waiting for the response from the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s office since the investigation papers into the murder case was completed,” NST Online quoted him as saying.
The 30-year-old woman, who had been living in Kuala Lumpur, had arrived on the island on July 1 and was found dead in the sea the same day.
Initially, police had investigated the case as a drowning incident, but classified it as a murder case after finding injuries on the body.
