All seven suspects in Estonian model case out on bail

JOHOR BARU: All seven suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Estonian freelance model Regina Soosalu (pic) on July 1 have been released on police bail.
Johor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Hasnan Hassan said that they were released under Section 388 of the Criminal Procedure Code with one surety each.
"The police have also forwarded our investigation papers to the Public Prosecution unit for further action," he said in a brief statement.
Datuk Hasnan, when contacted, also confirmed that Soosalu’s body was released to her family two days ago.
Soosalu was found dead while on vacationing in Pulau Rawa off Mersing here on July 1.
Police initially believed that Soosalu had drowned but later changed their investigations to murder after discovering "suspicious wounds" on the model's body.
Among those detained include Soosalu's boyfriend Tunku Alang Reza Tunku Ibrahim and a group of others including a woman who were all on the island as well.
Police have yet to release a confirmation of the actual cause of death.
