NGOs lodge police report against website on Selangor prince conversion hoax

KLANG: Several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) today lodged police reports against website for publishing hoax news article alleging that the Selangor crown prince had converted to Catholicism.
The NGOs condemned the author of the article for slandering Selangor prince Tengku Amir Shah, the son of Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Gerakan 4B Belia Selangor Alumni Organisation vice president Abdul Rahman Nordin demanded the police to investigate the matter thoroughly and take action against the author of the article.
“This is a very daring act by the author who I believe wants to cause chaos in our country.
“If the person dares to insult the royal institution, there would be many more acts that he or she would dare to do,” he told reporters after lodging a police report at Klang Selatan police station, here, today.
On Thursday, news and political satire website worldnewsdailyreport.com had published an article claiming that Tengku Amir Shah had converted to Catholicism in order to marry a 16-year-old Spanish model, Cristina Gomez.

Abdul Rahman urged the police to take swift action against the author as quickly as they had treated the case of Siti Fairrah Ashykin Kamaruddin, also known as Kiki, who was made infamous by a video of her hitting an old man’s car with a steering lock.
Also present to lodge police reports were Klang Jaya Apartment residents association, Gerakan 4B Belia Kota Raja branch, Umno Taman Desa Utama branch, and Pekida.
Earlier around 3am, Perkasa Selangor had also lodged a similar report asking the police to investigate the author of the satire news article at the Shah Alam poloce headquarters.
