Malaysian government unit mistakenly tweets Najib Razak as 'former PM'
PETALING JAYA - The Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) said it has taken action against those responsible for referring to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as a "former Prime Minister" in an official Twitter account.
"We have taken appropriate action against those responsible for the mistake," said a Pemandu spokesman.
The spokesman, however, declined to elaborate on the action and whether the party responsible for the mistake had been sacked.
The mistake appeared in a tweet by the @etp_roadmap Twitter account on Monday which read: "Former Prime Minister Najib Razak: Energy and food subsidies are 'no longer sustainable'."
A screenshot of the message was highlighted by several blogs and websites, which urged for action to be taken against those responsible for the error.
The administrator of the Twitter account subsequently apologised for the mistake.
"We would like to apologise for the error in one of our previous tweets, quoting PM Dato' Sri Najib Razak. This error has been rectified," the tweet read.
