ALOR STAR: A 19-year-old youth was today charged at the Magistrate Court here with the murder of Noor Syafikah Nadia Abdullah, 14, one of the three sisters from Alor Semela who were killed in last November.
Mohd Firdaus Mohd Faridul from Kampung Gelam in Jalan Datuk Kumbar here is alleged to have committed the murder at Alor Senibong between 9.30pm and 11.30pm on November 29, 2013.
Mohd Firdaus, who was clad in a yellow-striped shirt, nodded when the charge was read to him but no plea was recorded.
He is charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Wan Nor Hasnita Wan Daud prosecuted.
Magistrate Mohd Khairul Hafizuddin Ramli fixed March 4 for mention pending forensic and chemist reports.
It was reported that Noor Syafikah and her sisters Nur Izzati Husna Rusdi, 12, and Puteri Nurul Akma were found dead after they went missing from home on November 29.
Noor Syafikah's body was found at an abandoned padi field in Alor Senibong the next day while the bodies of her sisters were discovered in an irrigation canal in Padang Petani on Dec 1.
