KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) appointed its chief operating officer, Datuk Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan as its next president and chief executive officer, replacing Datuk Seri Baharin Din, whose term his service will end on February 29, 2024.
In a notification to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the appointment of Megat Jalaluddin by the Finance Minister (Inc) as TNB's special shareholder will take effect from 1 March next year, for a period of two years until 29 February 2026.
Megat Jalaluddin, 58, first joined TNB in 2006, then to Celcom in 2008, before returning to the utility company in 2009.
"Megat Jalaluddin built his career at TNB, where he served in various engineering and management positions within the company, including business and strategic planning, business development, project management, business process improvement, metering services and engineering services.
"The TNB Board of Directors would like to express its appreciation to Baharin for his contribution to the company," he said
