Indonesia records over 14,000 new COVID-19 cases in a day

JAKARTA: The rate of COVID-19 infections in Indonesia is becoming more alarming, as over 14,000 new cases have been recorded within the last 24 hours.
After recording 12,818 cases yesterday, the number of new infections today continued to soar to 14,224.
According to data published on the Indonesian government's official website on COVID-19 at ‘covid19.go.id’ today, the total number of cases in the country to date stands at 896,642, while the cumulative number of deaths has increased to 25,767, after another 283 casualties were reported today.
Jakarta remains the province with the highest number of cases at 223,970, while East Java has the most number of casualties with 6,833.
