SUNGAI PETANI, Aug 11 -- The husband of an elderly woman found dead with a slash wound on her neck in her house in Bandar Aman Jaya yesterday, was today found lifeless and hanging from a billboard in Bukit Bintang, here.
Kuala Muda district police chief, ACP Adzli Abu Shah said the body of Tan Kok Jooi, 62, the main suspect in the murder of his wife, was found by passers-by.
“We received a report on the incident at 7.42 am today. The victim’s family members identified his body and confirmed that he was the husband of the victim found dead with a slash wound on her neck yesterday, while the suspect’s car was found about 50 metres away from the billboard.
“Yesterday’s case is considered solved, but we will continue with our investigation as one case involved murder while the other case is classified as sudden death. The suspect’s body will be sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Alor Setar for a post-mortem.
Yesterday, the body of Kuek Choo Hong, 61, was found covered in blood and with a slash wound on her neck. Her face was also covered with a pillow.
Adzli said the police investigating team was also looking for items as evidence such as a sharp object used by the suspect to slash the victim’s neck.
“We have found a pair of jeans in a washing machine at the house, which we believe was an attempt to remove the evidence.
“We have also received information from the victim’s family members that she and the suspect had domestic problems,” he added.
