LANGKAWI: Pakatan Harapan (PH) does not seem to be interested in taking over the government when it still fails to reach a decision on its prime ministerial candidate.
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said this was following the PKR's decision to have Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as Prime Minister, not in agreement with other PH members, namely the Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) and the DAP, who wanted him.
"It is up to them, we will not force them if they do not agree. But we don't agree with him (Anwar) either.
"So, that is the situation right now, it is left hanging, there is no decision.
"This shows that we are not really interested in defeating (Tan Sri) Muhyiddin (Yassin)," he said.
The former prime minister was met after attending a casual chat program with members of the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Langkawi here on Saturday night.
Dr Mahathir said this in commenting on PKR's decision to reject a proposal to nominate him as Prime Minister, and instead choosing Anwar, if PH succeeded in taking over the government.
The DAP and Amanah have nominated Dr Mahathir as the prime ministerial candidate on the grounds that Anwar was seen as unsuccessful of garnering enough support.
