The Health Ministry announced 1,198 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 54,010.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 34 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 2,754.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 22,936.
The capital city recorded 125 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 11,114. Meanwhile, East Java reported 330 new cases, South Sulawesi 192, Central Java 188 and South Kalimantan 73.
The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (dfr/mfp)
