The Health Ministry announced 1,082 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 55,092.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 51 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 2,805.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 23,800.
The capital city recorded 125 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 11,237. Meanwhile, East Java reported 297 new cases, Central Java 198, South Sulawesi 188 and Central Kalimantan 47.
The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (dfr/mfp
