KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) is poised to face the 15th General Election (GE15) if it is called anytime soon.
Warisan permanent chairman Datuk Liew Vui Keong said he was also confident of retaining the seats held by the party today.
According to the former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, preparations were also made in his own constituency in Batu Sapi.
"We in Sabah are always ready for the 15th general election.
"I think the GE only involves Parliament, so the state of Sabah may still defer its election until the end of this term.
"We are always ready. For me at Batu Sapi, no problem. I can see that, overall, our members have done their duty," he said.
According to Liew, the possibility of an imminent GE cannot be taken lightly as Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's motion (for a no-confidence vote against Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) is still within the order of the next Dewan Rakyat sitting.
"On July 13 we will have the next sitting, which has been fixed. And as of now, we do not know yet what will happen to the motion from Yang Berhormat Langkawi (Dr Mahathir).
"The motion from YB Langkawi is still in the order of the meeting, in which he has already moved to say that there is no confidence in YB Pagoh (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) as Prime Minister.
"So, the motion is still relevant, it is still ‘alive’. We will have to wait on July 13 and see what will happen," he said.
Earlier, various rumours surfaced saying the general election would be called in the near future.
