Two policemen among 347 nabbed at nightclubs after testing positive for drugs

KUALA LUMPUR: Two policemen were among 347 people arrested after their urine test came back positive for drugs at a crackdown on entertainment outlets by Bukit Aman on Saturday (Nov 30).
Federal Narcotic Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said they launched the major crackdown, dubbed Op Club Rats 2.0, around 12am.
"We simultaneously raided 57 entertainment outlets nationwide and checked 1,753 patrons aged between 15 and 60.
"A total of 345 of these patrons including 31 foreigners were arrested after their urine tested positive for drugs," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He said 144 tested positive for methamphetamine, 77 for ketamin, 120 for amphetamine, three for morphine, and one for benzo.
"We also arrested 78 suspects for allegedly supplying and possessing an assortment of drugs.
"We seized 656.9gramd of drugs worth RM66,836.50 in the raids," he said, adding they also arrested two policemen at an entertainment outlet in Kuala Lumpur after their urine tested positive for amphetamine.
Comm Mohd Khalil said all those who tested positive for drugs would be investigated under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 while those found allegedly possessing and supplying the drugs would be investigated under Section 39A(1), Section 39B and Section 12(2) of the same act.
