Zuraida: Azmin and I are ready in case we get fired from PKR

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin says she and deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali are ready in case they get sacked from the party for organising a gathering at a hotel here on Sunday night (Dec 8).
The gathering, which was in the form of a dinner attended by thousands of pro-Azmin supporters and leaders aligned to him, took place after Azmin, Zuraida and others snubbed the final day of the PKR national congress in Melaka.
"If we get fired, Azmin and I are ready," she said in her speech at the Shared Prosperity Vision (SPV) 2030 dinner here on Sunday (Dec 8).
She described the party's management as being "caca marba" (erratic) despite president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim believing that PKR was strong with its 50 MPs.
"Who should be blamed? I know that my speech is being recorded, I want the president to hear me and put the party on the right track.
"There are some embarrassing matters that I cannot say out aloud here but I have already carried out my duty in criticising him," she said.
Zuraida added that prosperity will be enjoyed by the members only if PKR managed to return to the right track.
Earlier, when asked if he was worried that he may be sacked after delivering a speech critical of Anwar, Azmin said the matter does not arise and he only wanted to strengthen the party.
"Before the congress, we had a friendly meeting but there were certain important agreements that were breached (by Anwar) and this is deeply regretted," he said.
Also present at the SPV 2030 dinner were PKR vice-presidents Ali Biju, Tian Chua, PKR Wanita chief Haniza Mohamed Talha, deputy youth chief Hilman Idham, Amirudin Shaari and Sivarasa Rasiah, among others.
The four-day PKR national congress in Melaka, which ended on Sunday, was marred by a fistfight between the warring factions of Azmin and Anwar, leading to the arrest of two individuals.
The congress also saw thinly veiled attacks between the two leaders and walkouts by pro-Azmin delegates which led to Azmin and his team as well as supporters skipping out on the final day of the congress.
