‘Unconscious’ national silat champ rushed to hospital after kick in face

Faizul on the floor after his injury. (Bernama pic)SUBIC: Silat exponent Faizul M. Nasir was rushed to the hospital after getting knocked unconscious during his bout with Dines Dumaan in Putra B class (50-55kg) second round at the SEA Games today.
The Petaling Jaya-born defending champion got kicked in the face by his Filipino opponent while attempting a take-down at Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Dumaan was declared the winner over two-time gold medallist Faizul as a result.
National Silat Federation secretary-general Megat Zulkarnain Omardin confirmed to Bernama Faizul had been taken to James L Gordon Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Deputy Sports Minister Steven Sim later told reporters the hospital did not allow anyone to visit Faizul.
