PETALING JAYA: If you drive slowly on the right lane or sit behind the wheel of a lorry or van for more than eight hours, chances are you will not be issued a summons.

While these may not be good driving practices, these two "offences" are among various others in a message that has gone viral, which the Road Transport Department (JPJ) says is fake,

JPJ said the message with the heading "sebelum duit anda melayang (before your money is gone), which lists various offences and the rate of summons, did not come from them.

"It is definitely not true. We never issued such a statement.

"We hope the public will not simply believe such messages and forward it to others without verifying its authenticity," JPJ posted on its official Facebook page, and added the hashtags #tidakpastijangankongsi (don't share if unsure) and #bukansemuabenardiinternet (not everything on the Internet is true)
.).
