Puteri Umno vice-chief not resigning from party

PETALING JAYA: Puteri Umno vice-chief Zahida Zarik Khan (pic, centre) has denied the validity of a press conference invitation circulating on social media that claimed she was announcing her resignation.
Zahida took to social media to set the record straight and say that she had no intention of resigning from her post in the Umno supreme council, adding that it was an attempt to undermine her good name.
“The message about an invitation to a press conference that is being spread on social media has the malicious intent to harm my reputation as the National Puteri Umno vice-chief.
“Regarding the story of my resignation, what was said is not true. It is purely fictional. I hope no one believes it,” said Zahida in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
The invitation - which had set the press conference for Friday - was making the rounds on WhatsApp on Wednesday.
