Jamal brings mock-up of Rafizi to Umno General Assembly

Thunderous applause for Jamal and his Rafizi cut-out

THE STAR
KUALA LUMPUR: Despite having nothing to do with Umno, PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli made an appearance at the Umno general assembly - as a cut-out.

Controversial Red Shirts leader Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos, who is also Sg Besar Umno division chief, paraded the cut-out of Rafizi in purple remand attire holding a placard that read:

"Saya Rafizi Ramli @ Kaki Fitnah. Memohon ampun dan maaf kepada Ketua Wanita Umno Malaysia Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil kerana telah memfitnah beliau dan kini saya menerima hukuman setimpal 18 bulan penjara.

"(I am Rafizi Ramli @ Slanderer. I would like to apologise to Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil for defaming her and now I have been sentenced to 18 months' jail.)"

On Nov 14, Rafizi who is also Pandan MP, was sentenced to 18 months' jail by the Sessions Court for unauthorised possession of the 1MDB audit report and exposing it to the media.

However, this is not related to his case against Shahrizat over scandal-ridden NFCorp that was run by her husband and her three children.

Jamal entered the hall where Wanita Umno was holding its meeting Wednesday with the cut-out, and was met with thunderous applause.

He then presented the cut-out to Shahrizat, who was heard saying, "I'm speechless".

Later at a press conference, Jamal said he did this on his own because he felt that it was his duty as an Umno division chief to remind members about Rafizi's slander.

"I feel that all Umno members should know not to be deceived by Rafizi because what he did led to Wanita Umno being left out of the Cabinet," said Jamal.

He also said that Rafizi's slander on the National Feedlot Corp (NFCorp) issue was responsible for destroying Shahrizat's career and future.

"Because of the slander, he has created many problems," said Jamal.

"The lies tarnished the reputation of the people he speaks about.

"They affected not only Tan Sri Shahrizat and her family, but the whole of Wanita Umno and Umno," he said.
