Frightening Landing Attempt By Plane Goes Viral
Nervous flyers, you have been warned. The following footage of a plane trying to land in strong crosswinds is not recommended for those with a fear of flying.
A Thomas Cook Airbus A321 flight was coming in to land at Birmingham Airport in the UK when the pilots had to miss the landing and go back up.
The hair-raising video, posted by aviation channel Flug Snug on October 1, shows the Airbus A321 major turbulence as it approaches the runway, forcing it to miss the runway and take off again.
The video which has notched up over 712,000 views on the YouTube channel, obviously touched a raw nerve in many viewers watching the plane trying to land at the Birmingham airport when heavy winds made the task impossible.
The plane can be seen swaying in the wind as it attempted to land and then taking off mere seconds later.
The Airbus had then circled the airport before landing a second time, this time successfully.
"That was rough!! Great video, mate!" said one commenter on YouTube.
"I was on this flight. Fantastic to be able to watch it :) thank u!" said another who probably lived through the ordeal.
Check out the video below to see if you agree with the pilot of the Airbus plane who told Flug Snug channel that it looks a lot scarier than what its like up in the air.
"These landings might look scary from the outside and trust me, it's a lot more challenging and stressful than landing in CAVOK (Ceiling And Visibility OKay) wind calm conditions, but it's also the most fun you can have as a pilot," he said.
