KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 ― The police confirmed today that three former ministers will be investigated for allegedly breaching their ministerial oaths by revealing details about Cabinet meetings in Parliament.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Datuk Seri Husni Hanadzlah and Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal will have their statements recorded soon under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972 for their speeches in the Dewan Rakyat last week.

“Yes, soon,” Khalid told Malay Mail Online when contacted today.

The investigation is expected to commence sometime next week, Khalid added.

Several NGOs had lodged reports against the trio last week for purportedly violating the OSA by divulging details on Cabinet proceedings when they were ministers.

Former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin, and Shafie were dropped from the Cabinet last year after a surprise reshuffle by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Similarly, Husni who was the second finance minister and spokesman for state-owned fund 1Malaysia Development Bhd was also dropped this year
